Oceans 13 Film Fest

 

The SDUPS (Sand Diego Underwater Photographic Society) is producing a special film festival for the OCEANS ’13/IEEE Convention which is being held in San Diego this year. They have put out a call for entries that will last until July 22, 2013.

With over 250 companies and over 5,000 attendees expected to attend, the Oceans ‘13 conference is the world’s most diverse and prestigious oceans conference and exposition.Held at the Town and Country Convention Center, the OCEANS ’13 Film Festival will kick-off the conference on Sunday September 22nd, with a second set of films being shown on Monday the 23rd.

This is a great opportunity for emerging film makers to showcase their work in front of an international audience including some of the most recognized and influential people in Ocean science and exploration.

Here are the general guidelines for submissions:

  • Free entry
  • Limit of two films per filmmaker
  • Around 15 films will be selected by SDUPS’s board of directors each night
  • Only h.264 formats will be accepted – note that
  • Entries can be either “digital slide shows”, a video, or a combination of both slides and video
  • A previously award-winning film is acceptable
  • It is fine to submit the same films to the San Diego Undersea Film Exhibition (SDUFEX) which is approximately two weeks after OCEANS 13 Conference
  • Deadline for submissions is July 22, 2013
  • Submit your best films!
