Golden Turtle Photography Contest

Competition “Golden Turtle” is a wildlife photography competition hosted by the wildlife fund “FLORANIMAL” in cooperation with the Russian Union of Nature Photographers. Photo subjects range from mammals, plants, landscapes, amphibians, birds, to underwater shots and many more. Within the competition, there is also a specialized program and prize for the photographer of the best image of Russia’s nature.

The Prize

Basic rules of the contest include that all photographers must register themselves on the website and photos must be submitted in RAW JPEG format with 1400 pixels and no larger than 600 kB. A photographer may submit no more than 20 images, they should not have any watermarks or frames, should include a title, description, shooting parameters, and also the kind of animal represented in the picture. The photographs will then be judged by a selection of photography experts who may vote on an unlimited amount of photos. After this, they are placed into a pool of semi-finalists where a jury will judge them and choose a group of finalists who will then need to send in 20×30 cm prints. The Prize

All photos must be submitted by October 31st at the latest. Sometime thereafter, finalists will be announced. Finalists will be featured in an exhibition tour in March 2012 and will be awarded a share of the 1,500,000 roubles prize, or approximately CA$50,000.
